177985 2003-09-26 02:16:00 Does anyone know of a computer shop in NZ that might be selling older graphics cards? Specifically, old 2xAGP cards, 32MB or less? Even second-hand in good condition would be good. I've been looking on trademe.co.nz, and there are a couple of options there, but I'm always on the lookout for more options.
Cheers

177986 2003-09-26 03:00:00 I would try computer stores in your local area. Some larger companies may have older stock which they want to get rid of, so it might be worth asking. somebody (208)

177988 2003-09-26 04:14:00 I have a Powercolor TNT-2 m64 16mb ram, thats steps down to 2x agp. If you want it, its still in v.good condition.

Have you tried some online places, I bet some still sell old ones. Try starlyte.co.nz

177989 2003-09-26 08:48:00 Thanks for the replies guys
I checked out starlyte, but nothing. Thanks anyway. I realise I'm about two years too late (maybe more), so I guess it's probably going to be second hand... I'll have a think about that card PoWa. I think the TNT2 may be a conflicting card (FIC sd11 mobo)... There are a couple of cards on trademe I'm looking at. Thanks for the offer...

Brings up one 32mb tnt2 available at Gibbray technologies (www.gbtech.co.nz)

But as you say the tnt2 might be incompatible, but I doubt it is unless you've tried it :)

What spec computer are u trying to run it on?

177992 2003-09-26 09:26:00 AMD Athlon 500mhz (K7), 320MB PC100 SDRAM, FIC SD11 mobo. I've checked out the FIC website which has a FAQ on the SD11, and I seem to recall it mentioned a problem with the 32mb cards drawing more power than allowable. It specifically referred to a Savage card, and the TNT2 chipset (I think) but I couldn't access the page earlier today to check exactly. However, I found another page today that reviewed the SD11 (when it was released, I think) with a system that included the ATI Rage Fury 128GL. All the info I could find about this card suggests its a 32MB card, so I thought it might work...
If a 32MB TNT2 would work, that would be fine... but I suspect it may not...
Thanks
