177871 2003-09-25 09:35:00 Have pre-installed NAV 2000 supplied with computer. Have managed to get Liveupdate OK until Sept 2003. Now will not connect.
I have downloaded AVG but not extracted it yet.
Will the two applications conflict.
Will disable of NAV be sufficient
I would prefer to not uninstall NAV in case I can reactivate it in the future.
System is 98SE.

177872 2003-09-25 10:30:00 You should not run two AV programs at the same time. It will weaken the defences of each one.

AVG is quite adequate, its a good program. Just turn Nortons off before you install and run AVG, if you do not want to uninstall it.
I have had success in uninstalling NAV in the normal manner, and installing AVG (on a Win 98SE system) when Nortons was causing a Point of Sale application to crash.

Ifg you were to recommission Nortons, you would be unlikely to use the 2000 version anyway, its probably getting to the stage of being compromised with the newer viruses.

177873 2003-09-25 11:14:00 I don't think you will be able to update NAV 2000 due to its age as I have not been successful at doing so with my old one. I now just use AVG and am very happy with it. Susan B (19)
