178446 2003-09-27 21:15:00 Nothing happens after pushing the power switch. Is there a cut-off switch or a fuse? - I can't see any. Checked the power cable, - the power is there. Help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks.

178447 2003-09-27 21:37:00 Does the machine have an on/off switch at the back (up the top near the PSU) and is this set to on?
Also is there a LED on the back of the case with the PSU? as this will tell you if power is getting through the PSU or is getting stopped beforehand.
Has anyone opened up the case recently and accidentally loosened the power cable to the motherboard or replaced any power connectors to the FDD or something like that but put them in upside down?

178448 2003-09-27 22:24:00 If you try everything that cyberchuck's just said and it still won't turn on then the psu has probably given up the ghost. Yes it has got a fuse inside but I wouldn't recommend opening it up. psu's are cheap and easy to fit so it's not worth the hassle trying to repair it. pompeymike (4601)

178450 2003-09-27 23:26:00 is the power switch a "heavy duty chunky" switch, or a soft touch one, the soft one goes "through" the motherboard, and it could be unplugged, broken, or your motherboard could be broken. if its a heavy one, it could be broken, or the cable could be. agent_24 (4330)
