| 178444 | 2003-09-27 15:33:00 | I have just bought a Sony T300 cellphone and I am wondering if there is any software out there that I can use with the IR port? My laptop also has a IR and I would like to make good use of it. I know that I can connect two phone together (I got some mean songs from my mates T610) but I have searched for some software but I couldn't find any. | JamesStewart (874) | ||

I've done this with robots and Tv's..etc For example, used an old 486 running windows 95 and a small Visual Basic app to manipulate a normal (well old sanyo) remote control to change the channel depending on what's on. Of course you have to load the TV schedule and keywords for it so the program will find what you like, for instance I would type in "Star Trek" or "Computers" so it would find a program with a description containning those words and change to it "if" it was on. It didn't work to the effect I hoped for, but anyhow - play around if your geek enough. Also try download.com and google.com or dmoz.org. Another good place would be to turn the chatrooms on yahoo and the message boards/news groups at groups.google.com you find all sorts of crazy stuff on those mediums. |
