178240 2003-09-26 11:09:00 Hi all,

I'm running Norton SystemWorks Professional 2001 on Win98SE. I'm thinking of upgrading to Norton SystemWorks (standard edition) 2003. The standard edition, as I understand, has everything the professional edition has, less Ghost, more or less. My question is: am I still able to upgrade to standard edition 2003 even though I will have less applications in that bundle? I'm not too worried if I have Ghost or not, I've never used it anyway. Like to hear your views. Thanks.

178242 2003-09-26 11:41:00 Pretty sure that you would be able to upgrade alright.
Two suggestions:
1: Check Symantec website
2: Check side of Systemworks 2003 box

Both of these may detail what qualifies as upgradeable from.

178243 2003-09-26 21:56:00 I stand to be corrected here but I think you will find the upgrade disappointing.

SystemWorks 2003 seems to have a lot of useful utilities like “Orphan Finder” and a number of others missing.

However if you decide to upgrade I would be interested in purchasing your 2001 disk as someone appears to have thought they had a greater need for mine than I did.

This forum has quite a few Ghost converts and fans - it has saved my bacon a number of times. A search on this forum for Ghost will turn up some good tips and information.

I would recommend having a look at and play with Ghost sometime - you may like it. :-)
