| 178179 | 2003-09-30 07:39:00 | I have now set up 4 of the Noel Leeming HP ones . They are quite good value, several colleagues have bought them as well . They must have sold hundreds . What the advertisement doesnt always tell you (ZE4315, ZE4316 anyway) is that the CPU is a mobile one . Many of these cheaper laptops have a desktop CPU, which means that they run hot . Very hot, especially any AMD based ones . The mobile CPUs are more expensive, and its a surprise to find they are fitted in this price range . I use a ZE4315 myself and its fine . It came with 256 MB RAM (shared) and I was goint to take it to 512, but haven't bothered . Goes perfectly well with the 256 . Some present offerings have 512, 40 GB HDD . The HP ones with a 15" screen have a very high res screen, 1400 x 1050 I think . As thats the native resolution, games that want 800 x 600 will run in a smaller window . Laptops often dont stretch to full screen as desktops do . Try a game on one in the shop first . |
