178198 2003-09-26 11:49:00 Maths again. Usually the number will be divisble by 9 with a few excepts. If you want to see what the answer is - look at the symbol that will be for zero then look through and see how many symbols there are that are the same as that. See a pattern? parry (27)
178199 2003-09-26 11:50:00 you will note from that one that all the possible answers are the same symbol.

9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72, 81 ther may be more, but look at the grid and you will see the diagonal line of identical symbols. Sorry . :|

Again its maths. The act of making a subtraction of each digit from the combined number (e.g. 25 - 2 - 5) will always be modulo 9 (multiples of 9)

Now look at the symbols next to each number. Every multiple of 9 has the same symbol.

Get it?

178204 2003-09-26 12:12:00 Ahhhhh but you haven't fully explained how it comes up with the different letters each time...

Ok say there are all the possible answers 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72, 81, then they will all be equal to a letter (X) - so the answer box is always going to display that letter for that round. But if you click 'try again', then it will change all the possible answers to a different letter, and display the different letter in the answer box.

Sneaky, they aren't using the same data each time - just like the card trick above.

More to the point, which ones are true? All of them, but not to the laws of magic.
