2003-09-28 22:26:00 | Can anyone tell me if Windows 2000 SP4 is on any of the PC World PLus! cd's? If so what one? I've had a quick look on the front of the PC World CD collection I have but haven't seen anything refering to Win 2000 SP1. It would save my friend having to do a large download. Thanks in advance Steve

2003-09-29 00:29:00 | Thanks for the offer Babe,But I will download the service pack here & put it on a disc. My friends Win2000 computer has had no microsoft updates added to it at all so I guess that I just need to install SP4 & Then run the Updater to check for updates since SP4. Is it possible for me to download any other later updates such as blaster patch & put them on the cd too? Cheers Steve

2003-09-29 02:03:00 | Steve, No problem re the download... You can get the updates from the MS Windows Update site and you can also download the blaster patch(es) (MS03-039 / 824146) for each of the nt-based operating systems from Here (www.microsoft.com) Cheers, Babe.

2003-10-02 21:03:00 | Just curious as to why win 2000 service pack 3 is 142mb & win 2000 sevice pack 4 is 129mb ? I have downloaded SP4 from MS & it was a 129mb download & march 2003 PC world disc says SP3 is 142mb I would have thought SP 4 would be larger? ?:| Isn't the SP 4 supposed to include sp 3 updates as well as the newer patchs? Cheers Steve

2003-10-02 21:56:00 | Steve, As I mentioned earlier I have Win2K SP3 and SP4 which zipped are 126MB and 138MB respectively, once unzipped they are approx 130MB and 142MB. Yes SP4 includes all the updates but some are straight replacements for earlier ones so that will explain the different size9s). Cheers, Babe.

2003-10-02 22:02:00 | Thanks Babe, I just expected that sp4 would have been bigger than sp3 as it supposedly has more updates. Hopefully I will get it installed this weekend . Cheers steve
