| 178603 | 2003-09-28 07:39:00 | What programme do I use to see the hidden and/or deleted bits of word files I am sent? TIA | kiwitwat (4646) | ||
| 178604 | 2003-09-28 08:10:00 | You use Microsoft Word. There will not be any "hidden stuff" if Track Changes has not been used, or if all changes were accepted before it was sent. Turn on Track Changes Select Final Showing Markup If any modifications are still there, then they will be visible. As above, if the sender has either not used "Track Changes" or if they have, and the Changes have been accepted, there will be nothing extra to see. Of inerest is the File-Properties tabs. See who actually created the file. |

| 178606 | 2003-09-28 09:11:00 | It may not be quite what you are looking for Neil, but ZTree for Windows lets you view every tiny bit of data in a Word file, or any other file for that matter, and edit or delete it if you want to. You would be amazed what turns up in Works WP files, not all of it belonging to that document! Other file viewers may be able to do the same thing. Cheers Billy 8-{) |

If this is unchecked, a 'clean' copy of the file is written on saving. The "Allow Fast Saves" appends edits to the end of the existing file - bloating out the size as it is re-edited, but (as the feature's name suggests) may save the edit session faster. In some circumstances, Allow Fast Saves has caused unexplained crashing in Word, so a number of users disable this "feature". :| | wuppo (41) | ||

It reliably detects hidden fields no matter where they reside in the document, including headers and footers and the draw layer. www.wordsite.com |
