179395 2003-09-30 15:00:00 I have a 256mb usb flash drive,i use it constantly, either using it for distributing files amongst friends and family,or taking my much needed apps with me when im doing the rounds.

Ive been meaning to load windows 98 onto her and seeing if she fires up,might have a crack at that tommorow,From memory a sleek install of 98 is only 168mb.

179398 2003-09-30 22:15:00 You could always keep highly sensitive information on it, and always carry it around your neck :D

Things like backups of your private and public keys, financial information, encrypted data, and perhaps some backups of personal data.

Ive installed 98SE on a 160MB HDD before... was minimalistic, but worked...

You can always use that (with the right know-how) to install Linux on your XBox without chipping it :D

win98 installer couldn't find the usb drive,i see on another thread someone puts forward the idea of a start-up floppy with usb drivers on it.

Might be the way to go,but i haven't got the enthusiasm for all that jive...

179401 2003-10-01 00:42:00 I know someone with a 256MB flash drive that has both Windows 98SE and Office 2000 installed on it. I've got a 128MB and haven't tried anything than a stand alone Trillian installation for using on other computers. -=JM=- (16)
179402 2003-10-01 00:47:00 Ok...now im thinking install win98 on a spare hd,install the usb drivers on her, then transfer an image of it onto the usb drive..... metla (154)
179403 2003-10-01 02:25:00 How big is the CAB directory for W98? You could copy that to the USB device, then run the setup in that copy. Graham L (2)
