179357 2003-09-30 10:25:00 outlook express has died. it refuses to be the default mail client (although there are no other email programs on my system), whenever i choose "make default", after i exit and go back into the program, it still says - "not the default application". also double clicking on someones name in MSN messenger USED to bring up a new email addressed to them. now all that happens is that MSN says "could not perform this operation because the default email client is not properly installed" then, and im not kidding, it opens internet explorer about 70 times, all trying to connect to "mailto:username@hotmail.com". if i right click on a name and choose "send email" it will sometimes do the same thing, or say "the default email client is not set up to use internet shortcuts", and quits. either way i would really like to re-install outlook, or fix it somehow, but i cant work out how to do this. could someone please help me?. agent_24 (4330)

Have you tried repairing IE/outlook express??? What version of IE do you have????

You can do a repair throw the Control Panel ( just try & find IE & then select repair)
