179535 2003-10-01 06:26:00 I have a Dell Optiplex G1 350. It has a mother board Intel 440BX AGP chipset with 128 mb ram. It has a CD ROM and a Floppy only.
I use this only for backup purposes only, but have decided to increase the HD (which is presently 6 gig) and upgrade to XP Home . To this end, I have a second hand 40 GB HD.
The power source for the PC is 145 watt and my friend is a bit concerned that 145w is not big enough and may damage the PC.
Can anyone comment on this

179536 2003-10-01 06:31:00 The power supply should cope - I wouldn't see why it wouldn't. Would you be planning to be running 2 hard drives at the same time? somebody (208)
179537 2003-10-01 06:41:00 No. The existing 6 GB HD will be coming out veterannz (960)
179538 2003-10-01 06:52:00 It could possibly be a little on the light side but you may get away with it. Have a look at this page (www.upgradesource.com) for some indication of the recommended wattages for peak usages. tommy (2826)
