| 179494 | 2003-10-01 04:00:00 | Gidday, I'm a long-time gamer from the days of dial-up. Armed with ADSL Routers, myself and friend plan to play games like Total Annihilation & Starcraft over the net. We're not really too fussed about playing international opponents, but whats it going to take to play each other? I'm told Routers are difficult and I'm wondering if we can get away with not joining an online gaming client like Gamespy, WON.net etc. Am I naive in thinking ADSL Routers should work just as easily as dial-up? In any case, I'm keen to learn so any suggestions or tips would be appreciated. Thanks, Azrael. |

Of course you're bound to need to do some pinholing unless the server is on the DMZ. | -=JM=- (16) | ||

For example, the person joining searches for an IP '123.23.34.34' plus ':8080' ? But then how would the person hosting set a port? |
