Something that can catch people out, is that when you rename a files extension, the original extension remains because it was "hidden", and you merely add another extension to the end when you renamed it. Example: picture.psf ----> picture.psf.jpg instead of: picture.psf -----> picture.jpg Just to make sure this is not happening, whilst in My Documents go to Tools > Folder Options > View Tab. Remove the tick from beside "hide extensions for known file types" - Click Apply and OK. Then go and look at your saved picture and see if it has made a diference. Might be bit of a long shot, but worth trying :) |

"Irfanview" recognises the file but states that it has the wrong extention but will open it as a jpg. you can then save the file as a true jpeg file and it will open in other photo imaging software Do a Google serch for Irfanview, and download and install it. It is a very useful image manipulating piece of freeware regards Bruce |

| 179741 | 2005-03-09 17:02:00 | A .psf is a PhotoStudio file, you can download a trail at www.arcsoft.com / if the link doesn't work then simply go to http://www.arcsoft.com and follow the appropriate links to download PhotoStudio 5.5 (This is a Trial version with an evaluate option) then you can save your .psf file to a .jpg. As for changing the .psf to .jpg / .png extension (with extensions viewed) or any other photo edited software this has never worked for me. JohnÉire |

| 179743 | 2008-02-23 19:51:00 | I have tried changing the file extension o my old photos to JPG from PSF but it hasn't worked. Am going to try opening an old version of the program and trying from there. Who would have thought there would be such problems back in 2000? | CLBCZ (4671) | ||

| 179745 | 2008-02-23 21:37:00 | This is a really, really, old thread but PSF files belong to a programme called ArcSoft/PhotoImpression . Its not a bad little programme and came bundled with some scanners many years ago . However, what other programmes can open these files I dont know . Must be something out there as the programme has been around for years . |
