| 179747 | 2003-10-02 03:54:00 | Just wondering if anyone can help me, im a big fan of ati radeon series of cards but recently ive been having some problems with them :( Im running about 5-6 comps + ones ive set up with radeons, but i have two at work i cant seem to fix, one is a 1.7Ghz Pent with a 7500 in it and the other is a 2600XP with a 9600Pro (for CAD) in it. Both of them seem to get random errors 1, Sometimes on boot up you get wavy colored lines running up and down the screen, have to reboot to get rid of them. 2, the above problem also occurs randomly both pc's while working, about once a week. 3, not sure if this is related but on the 2600XP AMD computer some applications will just jump out to desktop with no errors what so ever. Yes ive done the usual reinstall the operating system, update the drivers on the cards, talked to the people we brought it from and no one seems to be able to help me. Budda |

I'll go along with that - some of these cards are a really poor fit and you literally have to bend the fixing bracket with a pair of pliers to get the card to firmly seat in the slot. If you're getting wavy coloured lines intermittently then this would point to a bad fit or a faulty card. |

| 179752 | 2003-10-02 21:55:00 | yep cards are firmly in, have had a TNT2 32MB in one of the comps and it ran fine, but got the ati 7500 so i could run dual monitors. Seems strange that two different cards from different places and models are having the same fault. I have a few other ati cards of simialr models and they run fine and dandy. o well if anyone else has any ideas?? |

| 179753 | 2003-10-02 22:16:00 | Budda, I've just been on the ati website and they reckon that if you get a currupted display which is ok after a reboot then the power supply may not be up to it. You need a minimum 300w psu - personally I'd go for a 450w to be on the safe side. Have a look at this: www.ati.com |
