| 180167 | 2003-10-03 21:39:00 | Barton would be better, as it has a total of 512kb of L2 cache, which is incredibly important to increasing speeds, as instead of sending data ALL the way from the RAM, there is some storage for instructions, variables, right next to the CPU, which is much faster to access. www.tomshardware.com Heres some benchmarks here, its apparent that in all benchmarks that the Barton is faster than the 2600 + But its your decision, and may after all, depend on the wallet factor Hopes this helps - David |
