180154 2003-10-03 09:13:00 Hello,

Does anyone know what the Communications Network Riser slot (CNR) is used for thats is on my motherboard. Is it for some sort of network card?

Thanks for any help!

180155 2003-10-03 09:28:00 Its a subset of the PCI bus, and allows for the connection of modem and network cards .

It has not generally been regarded as a must-have, however .

Modems using this connectivity are considered by some to be of lower quality and reliability (but they are cheap in most cases)
