2003-10-03 04:49:00 | Can anyone tell me what I have to do for the following? If the problem is still not resolved, verify that the following registry values are present and correct: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{00020400-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} Name: (Default) Value: IDispatch HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{00020400-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\ProxyStubClsid Name: (Default) Value: {00020420-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{00020400-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\ProxyStubClsid32 Name: (Default) Value: {00020420-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} It's from: support.microsoft.com Thanks.

2003-10-03 05:40:00 | They are saying that you need to get into your Registry to see if those Keys are as described. I am picking that you are not familiar with the registry so it would be wise for you to read the forum's Registry FAQ - you will find it by clicking on the link top right of this page. Note that the FAQs will take a while to load so be patient. Have you tried the remedies suggested on that Microsoft webpage yet? Specifically the following: RESOLUTION To resolve this problem in Internet Explorer, follow these steps: 1. Quit all programs that are running. 2. Click Start, and then click Run. 3. Type regsvr32 urlmon.dll, and then click OK. 4. When you receive the "DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded" message, click OK. etc etc...... That usually is enough to solve the problem. If it hasn't you can always reinstall Internet Explorer, which is the advice given if those registry keys are not present and correct. Come back if you need more advice and let us know how you get on. :-)

BTW, does anyone know what causes this? |

2003-10-04 05:35:00 | never mind my previous topic, found 'interface', all fine, I guess I'll try reinstalling IE again. | fallsauce (4677) | |
2003-10-04 05:37:00 | Look further down. After the 3 letter listings under classes. | Pheonix (280) | |
2003-10-04 05:49:00 | The entries ARE there in the Registry. You were probably fooled by the (.) in front of the first lot of entries, you have to scroll a loonng way down to get to interface. As said previously double check the FAQ on the Registry before changing anything and BACKUP. | Rod ger (316) | |
2003-10-04 09:33:00 | How did it go with the reinstall of IE? If you are still having problems have a look at this page ( . theeldergeek . com/repair_ie6 . htm" target="_blank">www . theeldergeek . com) and see if the suggestions fix it . Incidentally, you may like to try an alternative web browser to Internet Explorer . I use Mozilla Firebird (http://www . mozilla . org/) and find it much better than IE - once you have tried a browser that uses tabs for multiple open webpages you will find it difficult to use IE again . A search on this forum for Firebird will bring up lots of posts about it . :-)

2003-10-07 07:05:00 | Hey guys, turns out it wasn't anything to do with IE at all, rather someone had downloaded a popup blocker which worked by blocking ALL new windows. But I guess it wasn't all for nothing, at least now other people can learn from my mistake. P.S - About the registry thing, I couldn't find it at first because for some reason I had it in my mind that 'n' came before 'm'. (And yes, I do feel stupid) Anyway, thanks to everyone who replied, see you next time I have a problem!
