180189 2003-10-03 12:28:00 For some time I have been troubled with a high latency rate on my JetStart. It would load a file quickly, then waste time before getting the next one, & would sometimes cut out. With small files, like aWeb site, I found a 56k connection to be quicker.

I decided to use conventional dial up settings & the results are amazing.

MTU=576 (Windows default is 1500)
RWin= 6432 (MSSx12)
Connect HTTP 1.0= 16
HTTP 1.1= 8
Time to live = 128

180190 2003-10-05 03:27:00 Try running trace route and ping from the command prompt.
Start > Run > Command > Ping www.pressf1.co.nz
Start > Run > Command > tracert www.pressf1.co.nz

The ping results will give speeds of the connection to PF1 and the TraceRoute will show your connection along each hop and how long it takes to get there - which in theory will tell you if the problem is at your end or your ISP's...
Just another thing - did Telecom send their guys out to wire your phone jack for ADSL or have you used line filters?
