180455 2003-10-04 22:42:00 I have some Win 3.1 *.QIC backup files that I would like to restore. I'm running Win 98. Any way I can restore these? All help very much appreciated. KB. kbcad (1025)
180456 2003-10-04 23:49:00 Those backup files will have been created using Microsoft's Backup utility and may be restored if you use Win 98's Backup.

Cannot remember whether it is installed by default or not, but I think it is (my Win 98 PC is off at the moment so I cannot check).

It does appear that MS Backup was - and still is - designed for backup and restore to one machine . Read this ( . qic . org/html/faq/faq9 . html" target="_blank">www . qic . org)

Consider restoring a copy of the backup to a machine running the same version of windows . Experimentation with different versions of 3x may be required .

Men are four:
He who knows not and knows not he knows not, he is a fool -- shun him;
He who knows not and knows he knows not, he is simple -- teach him;
He who knows and knows not he knows, he is asleep -- wake him;
He who knows and knows he knows, he is wise -- follow him!
