| 180950 | 2003-10-06 21:34:00 | My computer has just just had its first virus removed which was "W32.Bugbear.B@mm" I did the following: *Removed virus with Bugbear removal program *Ran Mblast removal *Installed XP Mblast patch *Ran SFC system repair program *Installed IE 6 SP1 *Ran Welchia removal *Scanned and cleaned registry errors *Ran Adaware to rid spyware Now there is a "Run as" box that appears every time I try to run any application. It also has a check box on it saying "Protect My Computer and Data from unauthorized program activity" it will always appear even left unchecked. The programs run when I click OK, so how do you switch it off. |

| 180951 | 2003-10-06 22:53:00 | Raro, Right-click on the shortcut for the program(s), left-click on properties Right-click on the Shortcut tab (near the top) Right-click on the "Advanced" button (near the bottom) In the Advanced Properties ensure there is NO tick mark in the box beside "Run with different credentials" Having changed that click on OK, then OK again to update the shortcut. repeat for any other shortcuts misbehaving in a similar fashion. Now if this is happening to EVERY shortcut/program then a registry modification is required and I don't have those instructions to hand at the moment bu they are in the MS KnowledgeBase on the Web or Google may find it for you. Cheers, Babe. |
