180798 2003-10-06 04:06:00 I want to partition my hard drive, but I dont want to format it, or loose any stuff, and i want it done safely.

I heard about partition magic, or something. I have XP Pro.

If I bought Partition Magic 7.01, would that be all right for it?

I have hardly any money to spend though, so i want something cheap.

180799 2003-10-06 04:10:00 Use Partition magic to avoid losing data, its your best bet. You still should backup your data, its not totally fool-proof. Harry_H (2985)
180800 2003-10-06 04:10:00 I think PM costs $70 or thereabouts . Ranish is free, but that might njot do XP (NTFS) .

There is no such thing as a fool-proof accident-proof partitioner . Accidents happen . Fools happen . That's why backups were invented . :D

180801 2003-10-06 04:26:00 I have XP, but its FAT32 i have. Will that be all right?

What is Ranish?

180802 2003-10-06 04:32:00 Ranish is a free partitioner . Google will find a download site for you .

READ THE INSTRUCTIONS . Then read them again, until you understand them . :D

180803 2003-10-06 04:46:00 I think i can get Partition Magic 7.01 for about $35 . I can afford that, but is it enough better than the free Ranish, or nearly the same?

Can Ranish partition without losing any data?

180804 2003-10-06 05:11:00 There is ALWAYS a risk. You have to back up before doing anything. My son has lost his information when for some unknown reason, partition magic turned to custard. Pheonix (280)
180805 2003-10-06 05:25:00 Well. I guess thats a bit better, if even Partition Magic screws up, then I guess a free one wont matter so much.

No one has answered this yet though

Will Partition Magic 7.01 be ok? Does it support XP, and FAT32 and all that?

Thanks
