| 180725 | 2003-10-08 06:56:00 | This one's not related to Xtra, but I had mail delays on my own computer... because my outgoing emails used to be routed through Microsoft SMTPSVC (IIS 5.1). This happened previously, but I figured it out that time, but this time there was no apparent reason for the delay (I'm too lazy to investigate with exams next week). So now I've taken IIS out of my outgoing mail route. However, I say we go back to the good old days where you dialled into someone's mail server... I'm sure that would bring back some memories for some of us. It implies that the mail is sent directly to the person, and no one else can spy on it as it gets sent directly (unless they tap your phoneline and decode the weird noise modems make). :D |
