180809 2003-10-06 07:06:00 So, 7.01 doesnt work on XP?

Far, getting answers is like extracting a tooth. However it goes.

180810 2003-10-06 07:39:00 No - you need Version 8

180811 2003-10-06 09:17:00 Since im not an expert, it looks like im stuck back at PM 8 for $120 , or nothing.

I can afford nothing, so it looks like i will take it. hmmm.

I could buy a new hard drive for that price.

180812 2003-10-06 09:37:00 What a load of ?*?

Partition magic 5 upwards will do the job. You run it in Dos with a Boot floppy so it doesnt matter what the OS is.
It will handle Fat, Fat 32, Linux Ext2.
I presume that you are using Fat32 for your XP?
If you are using XP's new fangled format you may be in trouble.
If you have dual booting you must have Fat32 otherwise your 98/ME will not be able to access the files.

180813 2003-10-06 10:04:00 Maybe you could try a Linux partitioner like disk druid? Caesius (3758)
180814 2003-10-06 10:10:00 Mzee is correct. With the newer versions of PM 7,8+ - they include a windows version as well. Basically thats just the same thing with a 32bit gui. You can do everything with the bootdisks basically. PM 7,8 will make bootdisks for you. Amazing how many people don't know what P2P can do for you. PoWa (203)
180815 2003-10-09 02:40:00 Arrgh. What a pain. I could have bought Partiton Magic 5, for $5.

I think im going to get Partition Magic 7 though.

I dont have the new XP thing, just FAT32.

Would it be best to do it in DOS mode?

If I have XP, have do I go into DOS mode?

180816 2003-10-09 02:45:00 Yes I'm guessing you will have to do it within DOS, unless PM7 works in WinXP? PoWa (203)
180817 2003-10-09 03:04:00 I meant, If I have XP, how do I do it in DOS mode, because I cant seem to run DOS stuff. mejobloggs (264)
