| 180945 | 2003-10-06 21:15:00 | I want to create a complete backup cdr for when my pc crashes or I need to upgrade the harddrives. What files do I need to save to complete this task, making sure to pickup all my driver files. What I want is a cdr that I can boot from, that has all the information on so my pc will be up and running as soon as possible. |

This will create an image of your system, and allow you to do a complete restoration of all files and drivers - everything. Either back where it came from, or on a new HDD. My image occupies 6 CD-R, and is an image after all applications have been loaded, and setup. Its not a practical proposition to do it just copying files under Windows Explorer. |

For your driver files, there is a utility available that will locate all your self-installed drivers for you to back them up but I am not sure of its name. Another solution that is much simpler and used by lots of forum members is using Ghost - have a look at this thread (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz) and this site (http://ghost.radified.com/) for lots of useful information. |
