181227 2003-10-08 00:50:00 Is it possible to run two cd writers on the same computer .Say i've got a p4.Can i run an internal and external cd writer at the same time? It'll make cd copying faster^_^ yingxuan (3330)
181228 2003-10-08 01:01:00 i wouldnt think so, buffer overrun or something....

i guess i'm answering all ur qs today ying..

Nero does this just fine, you just run 2 instances of the program. you will likely find that you need to have the drives on separate IDE channels.

and

www.alcohol-software.com

and

www.padus.com

those 2 websites are programs that can do that...
nero can too but the IDE channel needs 2 be differerent

181229 2003-10-08 01:05:00 Lol yeah.you're answering all my questions today but there is one post that hasnt been answered.^_^ and that is can winrar files can be opened using winzip and vice versa yingxuan (3330)
181230 2003-10-08 01:05:00 seperate ide channels means sperate drives right? yingxuan (3330)
181231 2003-10-08 01:07:00 I think you would have to have a real multiuser operating system. If you start one copy, then start a second one, one is going to be in the background, at a lower priority than the other. Unless it's a very fast computer, you're going to get a good collection of partially written CDs. Instead of being twice as fast, it might be infinitely slow. :_| Graham L (2)

181233 2003-10-08 01:09:00 i personally think u should just write 1 cd at a time...mite get both done faster than having 2 being written at once... csinclair83 (200)
181234 2003-10-08 01:11:00 yes you can, but i dont know how well your system will deal with it, you can easily copy from one cd-rom to a cd-writer, but i think you will me more than likely to run into buffer overflow errors if you try to write to more than one cd-writer at a time. Budda (2736)
181235 2003-10-08 01:12:00 Hmm yes thanks for the help.IT will actually be faster to copy one disc at a time. The site says winrar can deal with zip files but the winzip site didn't meantion rar files are compatible.
Well.thanks again and im off to eat my bowl of noodles

181236 2003-10-08 01:13:00 theres always this quote "dont know till you try"

so u could just try it with 2 cd-rws...so u dont lose cds etc..
and if it works then it works..
if it doesnt...then u know what to do... 1 cd at a time :-)
