| 181548 | 2003-10-09 02:49:00 | Hi People Have a PC with MS Works pre-installed, with MS Word included in it. The serial number on it's spash screen is 1234-OEM-5678-9012. I also have Office 2000 installed. Word stopped working yesterday - the splash screen came up - and then nothing. I decided to uninstall the Work's version of Word that it came with, and reinstall Office. Word still didn't run, only it's splash screen, but still showing the 1234-OEM- seial number. Reinstalled the version of Word from Works and it is now working fine. But!! - the splash screen shows the OEM serial number, and using Word's menu [About] I get the Office installation serial number. QUESTION: How can I disentangle any of the OEM installed software after a Removal(Uninstall) and then what should be a fresh Reinstall? How do I get the -OEM- out of the serial numbers?
