I'm unable to delete those desktop shortcut icons when logging in to a limited user account. I could however, when logging in to a power user account.

There are quite a number of irrelevant shortcut icons on this limited user account and I want to delete them but can't!

Please help.

181376 2003-10-08 08:19:00 Can you log on as an Admin (not sure if a power user account will allow this) and browse to the limited users settings under C:\Documents and Settings\Desktop and delete the unwanted shortcuts from that folder? Jen C (20)

Oops - path should be:

C:\Documents and Settings\limited users name\Desktop

I could logon to Administrator account but there is nothing in the above folder. There are items in the power user accounts, however.

181379 2003-10-08 08:42:00 The other place you can look then is under the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop folder. Any shortcut that appears in this folder will automatically appear on everyone's desktop as a shortcut.

If you require a specific shortcut(s) to only appear under your account, just cut the shortcut from the All Users desktop folder and then paste it into your desktop folder.
