181794 2003-10-10 08:16:00 Hi, anyone know if its on JetstreamGames FTP/ or FTP2??? Thanks for the tip anyway ;) PoWa (203)
181795 2003-10-10 08:21:00 Hi Laura :)

>Yes, I have dialup..and a slow connection..

I don't want to chuck cold water over your enthusiasm to download this game, but just so you know what you are looking at, on a 56K dial-up connection this 264MB file will take you over 15 hours to download - hence the previously suggested download manager.

You can get free demo games (not full versions) off NZ PC World magazine cover disks (as well as other PC mags) if you are keen to try a variety of games. But if this game has taken your fancy - then go for it! :D

I have been downloading this game off a Netherland server (limited to those with 10KB/s plus connections) for the nearly the last 4 hours (have less than one hour to go now :p). I don't usually go for the war-style games, so I'm looking forward to seeing how this game plays out.

Thanks for the link metla.

Blimmin heck! :O Yes, it is on ftp://ftp2.jetstreamgames.co.nz/pub/hidden_and_dangerous

I could of ripped it down at the full Jetstream speed instead of my Jetstart connection if I had thought of looking there first.

Nevermind - only 30 mins now to go ...

181797 2003-10-10 08:33:00 No, it probably isn't (their files are outdated), but it is on AusGamers (www.ausgamers.com). agent (30)

Looks like someone over at Telecom got their butt into action.

181799 2003-10-10 10:45:00 Thanks for all the help
Metla, this is what's listed under Display Adaptors:(Properties)

Intel {R} 82810 Graphics Contoller
Hardware version 003
Driver dated 9-18-2000
There are update details ...too complex for me as yet
& no conflicting devices
plus several settings for memory ranges & input/output ranges ....definitely too complex f/m

& just to repeat, bcause this was an office machine (2/3 years old) I doubt that video/sound components have had much use -if any,
Sorry about the delay :it's the poor visibility I mentioned (overhead light gave up the ghost) but by now I expect there are many downloads under way - and Jen will have killed lots of enemy soldiers.
Tell me if its worth my prospective 15 hour download.

181800 2003-10-10 10:59:00 The first entry is all you need to identify your video adaptor and it is as listed a Intel {R} 82810 Graphics Controller.

Didnt manage to find a whole lot of info on it,My guess is its your average office machine orintated built in video option.

Intel have a little info page on it here

www.intel.com

As to whether it can run the game or not,i do not know, ive seen machines with basic video set-ups run older games quite well.
