1325021 2013-01-26 10:58:00 Interesting how ads on the internet are selected to appeal to ones supposed market interests. I bought a foam RC tiger moth from a Hong Kong hobby website a month ago and since then nearly every website I visit is advertising the very same item to me from the same store. Does anyone know the mechanisms of how this works? It is kind of funny to see it pop up in such a wide variety of sites but also a bit weird and spooky almost! Johnnz (7246)
1325022 2013-01-26 11:13:00 Did you google for it prior to buying? fred_fish (15241)

It's not weird, it's tracking you.

That'll show 'em.

But sometimes targeted ads useful. I was searching for a specific car part once, and a ad popped up for a small local company, which I immediately visted - and got the part

Another was a reminder from my bank, about a loan ad that followed me on the net.
