1324620 2013-01-24 22:04:00 In a similar position myself - getting charged 70% of the incoming water as 'wastewater'.

How do I claim a rebate for evaporation from the pool, which is a big issue at the moment?? I'm topping it up with the hose once a week at the moment, running the hose into the pool for around 30 minutes (no, we don't have a cover)...
Just keep adding another person now and again and you won't need to top it up.:D

Unfortunately, the number of fat people that could fit into the pool to displace the correct amount of water to keep the filter running is finite. Depending on fatness, probably 50 or so (so long as they didn't want to move around). And that sort of defeats the purpose of having a pool.... :D

If you get enough of them in there, you could turn it into a trampoline?

1324624 2013-01-25 00:26:00 Dig a well, conveniently placed over a water main, when you bust through yell "crikey, water!!!" set up a stand selling well water, top up the pool etc. When the council come to complain just tell them you dug into an Aquifier that had been there for the the last 50-100 years and finders keepers :D The Error Guy (14052)
1324625 2013-01-25 00:33:00 Reminds me of an old uk comedy (forget the name).
They went into business selling water. They were getting it from the tap at home.
Due to them selling so much, the town was running out of water, so people kept buying more...

78%

You can't . They don't care what you do with it, they just measure the incoming .
Anyway, we now have a wee tank, had to take out a patch of garden to fit it in, but hey, it's 1/18th of my needs now . . . .

1324629 2013-01-25 06:45:00 Sheesh. Where I live the water bill is about $120 for 6 months of supply!

The council however wants to charge all the rates for the property twice, just because I've got a toilet, shower and cooktop in a pokey area upstairs in addition to the facilities downstairs... water, waste, refuse x2

But a family of 8 using one toilet can get away with paying half what they charge me for a total of 2 bums on 2 toilets... yeah, that's fair. Odds are I pay most of the bills for such a family of 8 anyway via taxes and benefits... and that's my fault too.
