1348755 2013-07-13 02:03:00 Just wondering about options for Outlook.com. I read that they don't support IMAP for now, but they do support Active Sync. Does that mean if one is running MS Office - Outlook suite they can sync their mail / calendar / contacts including the sent box? Also when you sync it does the copy online get deleted?

Then .. if one uses a client like MS Outlook - Office, it's not IMAP. When one checks email it gets deleted off the server right? So do they use ActiveSync instead?

I have a Gmail account as well for internet use, v convenient for maps, youtube etc. Am I the odd one out, I find that for general usage, the interface is tidier with Outlook.com. Ditto FB vs Google+. FB has stuff on the left, on the right and stuff in the middle as you scroll down.

And is it true that for all webmails, by native they don't import/export easily. I archive my personal email account so have stuck with MS Office - Outlook. Could you export from one webmail and import them into another and keep them in the same folders?

1348757 2013-07-14 02:19:00 Outlook 2010. I found that maybe I can install Hotmail Connector so that gives me synching options. Outlook 2013 seems to be built with it.

Just re: email domains. Is that merely just the address or does it have a data size? If one has a email domain and uses Outlook.com or Gmail.com, does one still rely on them to hold the contents? I am drawn to Outlook Desktop b/c what happens if a new Mark Zackerberg come along and Gmail loses its mojo. Cos I can download all the contents in its original structure. While Outlook is not gauranteed, it may have a longer life than Thunderbird. Unless one convert all messages to say .rtf ....... so it's universally readable.
