| 1347829 | 2013-07-03 00:18:00 | Hey there, I am out in rural Manawatu and have a degrading phone line. Basically the speed of my bandwith has decreased from 700KB/s to now 400KB/s over a 2 year period. I was told installing a Master Filter would probably help a bit and get me quicker speeds. So looking to install one myself Was wondering if there was a guide anywhere or anything to do this? Is this filter here all I need? www.pbtech.co.nz Also; here are my current line stats. imageshack.com Thanks in advance; Phil |

Your modem phone line still connects to the incoming phone line as at present and should be the only device connected on that side of the filter. You may need to add another phone outlet box for the connection to the modem - depends on your present layout. Once you have done the installation be aware that you can't just take your modem into another room in the house unless you reroute the direct connection from the incoming line. (An after-thought - I'm not sure that you will see improvement, but probably worth trying.) |
