182138 2003-10-11 00:05:00 Since Sunday, I've been having problems with IE5.5. The homepage loads OK, and so do several other sites, but most don't load, and it comes up with a 'page cannot be displayed' error. The weird thing is, it works OK (but slowly ) on Netscape 4, and very well on Netscape 7. Also, I've been having 'connection was refused' messages after the page loads on several pages with Netscape 7 (I think they because of ads refusing to load). Anyone know how to turn that message off? Thanks! Maarten (2753)
182139 2003-10-11 00:31:00 Who is your ISP????

What OS do you have????

& Have you check all of your Internet connection settings????

182140 2003-10-11 00:35:00 My ISP is Xtra, and I have Windows Me. This sort of thing has happened before (running Adaware and quarantining the dialers etc helped, but not anymore). And I don't know what could be wrong with my connection settings, nor would I know what I was doing. Maarten (2753)
182141 2003-10-11 02:45:00 Firewall?

Have you run SpyBot etc?

Anything changed recently, software installed/removed, hardware changes etc?

182142 2003-10-11 03:47:00 what service pack is 5.5 updated to? eg are yourunning 5.5sp1 or 5.5sp2 ??

check the size of your temporay internet files. commamn problem with IE is that it sets the cache way to big. set it to 20 0r 40 meg roughly.

182143 2003-10-11 23:02:00 No firewall, and yes, I have run Spybot as well, no problems there.

Don't know what SP it is, but it's version 5.50.4134.0100, if that means anything to you.

I changed my cache from 4004 Mb to 30 Mb, but it doesn't do anything. I just checked my other settings, seem to be ok there.
