182290 2003-10-12 20:55:00 yeah - i watched the jap/scot game

I was hoping also tht the jpa's would win, as i couldn't agree more with the comment you made: the world cup is in desperate need of a "upset"

there was a great articel in a paper the other day ( i think it was the sunday start times - the pre world cup magazine) saying how predictable it will be, and the finals/knok out phase is already pretty clear who will play who.

I'm in a competition with my family and bunch of mates (theres 30 in total in it) and we pik the winning team, and the margin (split into 4 sections eg, 1-13, 14-27 etc) for all the pool games.

I have have everyones sheet - so we can see where we're all at etc - and 95% of the games are all the same - theres only a few "risks" people have taken - like me piking agrentina to beat ireland.

This would have to be one of teh biggest downsides in the world cup - i mean, at least the soccer world cup had a few upsets/results that didn't go to plan.

i guess the balm lies on the IRB - not having prizes, and blaming them for teh current state of world rugby - the pacific islands and NZ are a perfect example ( tho it looks like rupeni will be out of cup...)

But oweel - i guess that's just how it goes.

See that Japan might host teh 2011 cup tho....

182294 2003-11-22 14:56:00 Well the following link is an oldie, but it's a goodie. There are definite scientific reasons for changing your computer's case colour:

182295 2003-11-22 22:12:00 Nice one Greg, my next case is going to be a black one. ;-)

Loved this bit too: "But these days hard drives run to hundreds of megabytes, procesors do scores of millions of instructions per second and eight or more megabytes of RAM is common." :D
