182691 2003-10-12 23:10:00 I have a laptop running WinXP Pro that I have to logon to different networks at different times. This I can do, but the details of the previous network is always overwritten, requiring another setup when I return to the original network.

Any advice appreciated

182692 2003-10-12 23:41:00 I had exactly the same issue, and found a utility called Netswitcher:

http://www.netswitcher.com

Costs $14US and works like a charm. I am running it on Win98SE, but according to the website it supports XP as well.
I have it set up for "Standalaone", "Home LAN", "Office LAN"

182693 2003-10-13 02:44:00 You can do the same thing without having to purchase more software.

Go into the Control Panel - System - Hardware - Hardware profiles.

Copy the current profile and call it what you like then restart the laptop.
Now before windows loads it will ask you which profile you want to use.
Set up one profile for one of the networks and the other for the 2nd network.
You now shouldn't have to set it up all the time.

182694 2003-10-13 03:00:00 One advantage of Netswitcher is that you don't (always) have to reboot/relogon.

Hardware profiles is definitely one approach, but I still think Netswitcher is worth a look.
