182743 2003-10-13 03:01:00 Only if you connect - normally you would not be. I presume you have an aerial connected and use as a normal TV.

182744 2003-10-13 03:15:00 A Video capture card does not enable you to watch TV "live" on your computer.

That needs a TV card. (Not the "TV Out" available on some Video cards)

If you have a TV Card, it has nothing to do with the Internet. It receives a TV signal from your outside aerial. Its essentially a TV set on a card, that uses a window to display the program.

"TV Out" on cards simply allows you to connect the video output of whatever you have displaying on your monitor, to a TV set, using the AV input on the TV. By this I mean if you are playing a DVD on the PC, you can watch it on the TV screen.

You could use the video output from a TV or VHS recorder to feed into a Video Capture card, so you could watch TV on the computer (why would you though?), but its simply acting as a display then, not a TV.
