| 182682 | 2003-10-12 19:17:00 | Just to be clear on this,I have always had 48 kbps, for last two days it has been about 28.That is goverened by telecom I take it and such things as local traffic??? Can't seem to detect any difference in speed of reception. |

As such, local traffic doesn't come into it as you should be the only one on "your line". Reasons for drop in speed could be the recent rain you have had, getting into the cable somewhere, any new phone you have connected, or in the worst case to "0+2" pair gaining system Telecom use when they run out of local cables. Thats where you digitally share the line with someone else, its digitally split so each party does not hear the other one, but speed drops to about 28 kbs |

Hope you are not using optical, because if so you won't get ADSL. If it comes right when things dry out, then its water in a joint (in your house or out in the road). Try unplugging all your phones and see if it improves, that would be a pointer. |
