AV rack Win zip (i may have had this before) ABBYY Finereader Xaber 3d wizard print me internet printing nero media player these ones are on my menu or prog list on start up menu... have not experimented with them yet but why would i need these or do you recomend these items... sorry to be a pain, personal input is more important sometimes than what google will tell me. beetle |

If you are using Win98 to XP, you can disable some of these items from your startup list. Various ways of doing it. If they are in your Start > Programs > Startup > just drag the links out of there into your main Program List and they should not load at startup. No reason for Abbyy, winzip, or Nero to start when you start the computer. Other way to do it as well is Start > Run > type in msconfig > Press Enter > go to the StartUp List tab and remove the ticks from the items that you don't want starting up, do just the above 3 to start with as there is stuff in that list that you don't want to untick > Apply > Ok > Restart system > upon restart tick the box that you are using Selective Startup. |

| 182628 | 2003-10-12 22:07:00 | ok found out that print me is a add on / or whatever you call it of adobe acrobat reader (is that the old name or new name?) so thats ok.... uninstalled that sprint reader thing it was only trial thing anyway, im not paying for it later. nero thing will look into later, as im not a great fan of media player the new version. and in cd is a copying thing or seems to be, so will check that one out to, whether it is easier than nero or whatever will be the one i use most then. thanxs all for your help, its good to have others input which sometimes clears the fog of information overload... :D ill keep you posted on progress. if any :p beetle |
