182559 2003-10-12 07:03:00 Hi I recently replaced my mobo, cpu, ram, and power supply. Mobo is a via AD77,cpu AMD 2000xp, and 512 Mb DDR 2000 ram. Since then I cant boot mandrake.

I am unable to reinstall, or repair the os from the installation discs. After boot starts and I select rescue the rescue sequence starts and stops after the entry,"ESR value before enabling vector =00000002.

Has anybody any words of wisdom to solve my dilemma. Or if not how can I erase mandrake and restore my windows system to use all of the hard drive again.

Thanks.

182560 2003-10-12 23:25:00 What were the old components you had?

And what is the chipset on the new motherboard?

A couple of things to try:
- Turn off "Plug and Play OS" in your BIOS.
- Try booting with the "acpi=off" option. You add it after 'linux' (or what ever it is called) in the boot loader. You will have to hit escape if it is the graphical menu. eg "linux acpi=off"
- Disable APIC in you bios if you can.
