183882 2003-10-16 08:49:00 Ha, Thats a good one.

A few things thou:

WFTWE is Billy's 'thing' and personally it seem's a lil rude to try and detract from that... I dunno, he'll post his thoughts on that.

Second, your name (No offense intended) could be offensive.. and is it really neccesary?

We've just had a couple of people this week with names... change... and yeah..

Dont mean to be a kill joy, and welcome to PressF1 :-)

Chill.

183883 2003-10-16 10:14:00 Hey Chilly, this guy is obviously just an attention seeking troll.

And i'd put good money on it being the same person who had the other attention seeking name.

:^O

Funny how they are familiar with PF1 text formatting right from the off isn't it! And how thay start with the same inane comments . Most newbies start with a question or by posting an answer to a query .

No offence intended if you really are new to PF1 EH, but if you are genuine, you chose a bad name, bad time and bad topic to start your residency .

Choose a new name that doesn't involve effing and start again . This is a family-oriented Forum and many posters are still at school .

Welcome anyway, and time will tell . :|

Cheers

[pre][b]I don't get all proprietary about WFT** posts guys, but I
guess it would be nice if WFTWE was left alone, hijackers
are not popular in any arena .

I don't mean to be on the side of the so-called n00b, but the situation really does depend on what level of school.

I wouldn't dare to tell how much I knew about *ahem* sort of stuff when I was at primary school, and this was more when I was around the age of seven, rather than towards the end of my primary school years.

183887 2003-10-16 11:50:00 Rofl. What was the other attention seeking name? Farcanal? PoWa (203)
183888 2003-10-16 13:00:00 yeah it was but who cares

the point of this whole website is for helping others/talking to others

i know that some ppl would have wrong/rude sign in names...but i honeslty think its up 2 bruce/robo to decide that...and its only up to us to help/reply to threads..and if u find something wrong...dont slang off at them...just post a post to bruce am sure he'll get it or just email him if u know his email addy...which i dont....

so yeah...lets leave the flames for the fireplace to burn its wood wif...

183889 2003-10-16 16:27:00 And if you sit playing Space Invader games for too long, you get asteroids .

Looking for some kind of etymolgical comment on "buttocks", I can think only of the alleged derivation of "buddy" (friend) . The story is that in the days before they bred and trained ponies to do the job, or had engines, miners used to push trucks full of coal, ore or whatever to the shaft that took them up to the surface . They had to do it in pairs, the trucks being too heavy for one man, so the hips and buttocks of one pusher were in close proximity to those of his partner, who became known, consequently, as his "butty" or "buddy" .

Nice story, but pretty comprehensively dismissed by most dictionaries and word-experts, in favour of the simpler but less romantic theory; "buddy" is simply a contraction of "brother" .

Thinking of the posterior, proximity to a fellow worker and the likely digestive-tract effects of heavy effort and bending, I am reminded of a "Scientific American" article on the arrangement and functioning of multi-deck oars on Roman galleys .

While accepting that anything up to three rows of oars (the trireme) would have been possible from a leverage point of view, the article did point out that the heads of the rowers in the middle and lower rows would have been very close to the hindquarters of their fellow workers in the row above . . . .

"Digital broadens its user base" .

Caption to a photograph, many years ago, of a Digital Equipment warehouse system, with an obese individual in the foreground sitting on the edge of a desk as he checks a sheaf of printout .

TWO POINTS MrT

One, I might be a Newbie to Press F1 BUT I can read the words "Formatting Options" above where you post your thread, and second, it might have been inane, but on a scale of 10, it ranks pretty low compared to the inane "Whats wrong wif my fridge thread.

Judging by the replies by the likes of Metla, I didn't realise how many moderator/webmaster wannabies there are on this site

OH, and regarding my login name, compared to the everyday use of the "F" word these days, on TV, Radio, and everyday conversation (even used by schoolkids in school uniform in public shock-horror) effenhell is about as mild as it gets. Maybe I should change it to Goody_two_shoes or Mummies_boy009
