183303 2003-10-14 21:38:00 today after a trouble free two days (still waiting for pc man) i have an enormous amount of lag.... with opening things and lack of responses...

what is happening? and i was not connected to the net yet either.
and apart from that its freezed on me and had to shut progs (it did)
and im no better off now than before the reformat apart from i have no info left to save.....
and i wont ghost it like this.. even if i had a prog to do that,

so it must be a hardware prob dont you think? to keep doing this too me?

sigh......

why is life so difficult for me...

183307 2003-10-17 02:28:00 Well with those sort of things happening on a freshly installed OS, the sort of help you now require is hands-on by a Computer Tech.

Time to give the Tech a hurry-up and get him back to look at your machine :)

183308 2003-10-17 02:34:00 When this computer person gets around to it, ask them to check the hard drive for bad sectors, and do a full diagnostic on the drive... just an idea, but when my HDD got bad sectors on it, it started making whirring sounds when something tried to access the sectors, but otherwise operated normally. If I remember, it slowed down, and things stopped responding, when it attempted to access the bad sectors.

Otherwise I'd say that there is a major conflict somewhere, and most likely hardware related (could also be a driver, but yeah, it's hard to find out).

183311 2003-10-17 03:36:00 What I would do is to keep a record of everything weird that happens (when's / how's / what's) to show him. That way he has a list of things to check out and saves you trying to remember all the gory details to tell him :) Jen C (20)
