184005 2003-10-16 22:48:00 Just wondering if anyone knows which ISP has the cheapest jetstart plan. Orcon has it for $49.90 p/m (5 Gig plan) which is the cheapest I can find. Has anyone else got it for less then that? Barnabas (4562)
184006 2003-10-16 22:49:00 As far as I know, Orcon will be the cheapest.
They are a very good ISP as well I believe.

184007 2003-10-16 23:00:00 orcon are not the cheapest but i would say they are the best value for money, they have reasonable bandwith limits, dont limit ftp, games and have reasonable helpdesk support.

WOuld be my top vote for ISP, btw cheapest isnt always best :)

184008 2003-10-16 23:34:00 I have just got Slingshot last week, which is uncapped for $29.95/mnth, so far so good. With 2 teens in the house, will be interesting to see if we get any letters from Slingshot as they do download some stuff! :D Pheonix (280)
184009 2003-10-17 00:10:00 My ISP is Orcon / Jetstart.
They charge me $19.95 a month
Telecom charges $29.95 for the Jetstart.

Orcon are in the process of installing new hardware,

184010 2003-10-17 00:39:00 Looks like (dr-mission-series.7p.com) orcon has the cheapest. But you can't download as much. What do you use the net for? PoWa (203)

184012 2003-10-17 00:51:00 For a total fee of $69.90, the Orcon JetStart 15GB plan is better than Quicksilver's StarterPlus, which includes domain hosting, but only has 10GB international traffic compared to Orcon's 15GB. Price of StarterPlus is also $69.90...

but Orcon have the 5GB [international traffic] plan for $49.90, whereas Quicksilver's cheapest plan is $64.90, packed with 10GB international traffic. Orcon also has a cheaper excess MB charge, at 5c/MB instead of 10c/MB.

184013 2003-10-17 00:55:00 Last year, I was looking at TelstraClear's Tempest plan, which was 256kbps ADSL, for about $80 a month with more reasonable traffic limits than Jetstream. It appears either they renamed the service or dropped it, because when I went back a few weeks ago I couldn't find it. agent (30)
184014 2003-10-17 00:58:00 ICONZ do Unlimited data transfer for national and international, and IIRC MaxNet still do also.

That 256k with Clear looks aweful appealing round about now, however, We're with Ihug and I really cant be bothered changing ISP's and losing Email addy's etc. for when I finally get ADSL in a month's time!

*I want 256k ADSL*
