184318 2003-10-18 02:44:00 oh and one more thing (im going to buck the trend pls dont flame me) i will never go near QMB, their service is appalling, they have poor english skills, a pokey overcrowed small shop, they may have the cheapest prices but only stock a few quality brands Pete O'Neil (250)
184319 2003-10-18 02:50:00 Thanks pete - all comments are appreciated. So far my dealings (well, two emails) have been good with QMB, once I get my specs together I will email them all and see what they can do

:) Cheers

184320 2003-10-18 03:34:00 The ti's are excellent value for money,i just put a leadtek one in the secondary computer i just built myself, and it performs better then the asus one i already own that cost considerbly more(makes ya weep).

As for qmb,i wont deal with them anymore,Had a terrible time with a defective component from them,i ended up with no replacement, and they ended up keeping my money.

No idea how they think that works but that was the end of my dealings with them.

Have been thinking, Jester (and caused the smoke alarms to go off :p), - it may not be a good idea to have a computer assembled without them installing the OS because how will they be able to test the beast and know that it works? Good PC assemblers should give them a bit of a run before handing them over. Might be a bit difficult to do that without the OS, drivers, etc installed.

184322 2003-10-18 12:56:00 Just tell them to install the OS for testing purposes, and then to format it. Then if your clever, get a special unformat program to recover the partition = free OS :O Wait...that might be illegal. PoWa (203)
184323 2003-10-18 17:04:00 We have dealt with PB Tech Ltd, Hamilton for a few years & prices aren't too bad. Service is always excellant, as we are in Taranaki, this means alot of couriers, but worth it to us. They also have a shop in auck & dunedin. http://www.pbtechnz.com/ check them out. teddybear (2443)

Thanks, as I live in Tauranga I went to them first. I have purchased the odd thing from them in the past but never been overawed by their service, and wasn't by their prices when I went in with my specs.
