You can get a little box which is meant for connecting two faxes (which would work with a computer "being" a fax) from a place in Australia ... I thing[ the name is Micro - something, and they advertise in some of the aAustralian electronic/computer magazines. You can connect your modem directly, but while the computer modem can be told it's on a "leased line", I'm pretty sure that a Fax can't be told that, and wants the whole catastrophe of ringing etc. Of course if you have two phone lines ... :D ... but it might be cheaper to buy a faster printer. What is this s l o w printer? Is it correctly set up? |

| 184132 | 2003-10-17 05:15:00 | If you needed continuous connection, you could get a leased line from the Post Office --- a permanently connected line, which ended up in a socket on the wall of each of the sites at the ends . It cost money . Lots . You can still, with the right configuration, connect two modems directly, without using the phone system . That would be a short "leased line", and you own the piece of wire, so it is free . But the fax won't have that option . Very expensive commercial faxes might? I don't know that printer . . . someone else might . (I think you might have exaggerated its speed :D) . |
