184115 2003-10-17 03:15:00 ok had done some putting of music of a backup disk onto puter before major probs happening again and so thought id test it to see if they work again,
when i installed it back onto machine they went fine but now says it cant find the info, as it does not know which directory to look in?
so changed it thinking it's C:
but no change it cant find it and there's screeds of it doing this..... its not found any?

did i save it wrong or something? or is it my cd writer ?

184116 2003-10-17 03:21:00 It's a cruel world, isn't it :D

Anyway, I'd suggest copying the music off the CD (assuming it's in a music file format, not an actual audio CD) and trying to play it.

184117 2003-10-17 03:23:00 Where did you save your music back to? If you just go to that directory, click on any of the music files your default music player should pop open and play it. If it doesn't, right click on the file go to properties and make sure there is no "read-only" tick showing. Jen C (20)
184118 2003-10-17 03:26:00 i saved it back into media player.
and they worked fine then and all info about each song was correct etc, so thought great did something correct for once....
but i didnt.....
they played fine then... or the ones i checked did...

184119 2003-10-17 03:33:00 So .... you loaded the files into the media player, and they played OK, but now when you now go to the play list, the media player cannot find those files? That is probably because they are still sitting on your CD only and weren't actually saved to the hard drive anywhere. If you put your CD back into the drive and select the playlist again, they should play OK. Jen C (20)
184120 2003-10-17 03:35:00 reopening the cd its all opening up as play icons / symbols of nero media player why is it converting, does this have a default setting somewhere?

but the music is still there.... sigh thank goodness.

184121 2003-10-17 03:39:00 and save them again you mean?

not at moment as WMP is throwing a hissy fit and shuts down on me.... will try when fixed i think.

ps i did not install nero media player, but i dont know whether its a good idea to remove anything just yet, play it safe and dont fiddle and then wont get told off for doing some damage maybe.

thanxs

184122 2003-10-17 03:43:00 Yeah, I would just leave things alone for the moment then Beetle :)

Nero has obviously become your default media player because it was installed last. You can change this if you like though.
