184797 2003-10-19 04:57:00 Go to this page (v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com) and try there. Susan B (19)
184798 2003-10-19 05:46:00 That's the page I was trying and the driver updates are greyed out. I have tried reloading XP but it makes no difference.
cheers

184799 2003-10-19 05:59:00 Hmmm.... what are your cookie settings set to? You may have to lower them before it will let you in. You will also have to accept Active X as well so ensure that your settings for that are on Prompt. Susan B (19)
184800 2003-10-19 07:07:00 Have a look at this page (www.updatexp.com) and this page (www.theage.com.au) for information that may help. If it still does not work let us know. Susan B (19)

In Internet Explorer go to Tools, Options, Security, Custom Level, Active X Controls and Plugins and set all the following:
Download signed Active X controls
Run Active X controls and plug-ins
Script Active X controls marked safe for scripting
to Prompt.

184804 2003-10-20 20:56:00 Try to log on as Administrator and see what whether you can complete your Windows update. I had the same problem sometime ago and I managed to updated my xp successfully after loging on as Administrator.

Good luck.

184805 2003-10-24 08:23:00 Got it sorted at last. Went to IE6 - tools - internet options, and set everything to default. He presto it now works! Augustus (4490)
