2003-10-18 02:40:00 | Oh. You sure? I thought you could have 2 desktops, and switch bettween them, like you can on Linux i think.

2003-10-19 01:32:00 | The nView manager only works if you have multple displays. Yes you can have more than one desktop but you need to 2 or more screens to display each individual desktop you have configured, alternatively you can split one desktop over the multiple screens and you can also select which screen an application will open on. so in effect you can play a game on one screen and say surf the net on another screen (provided it's in a window... the game that is)

2003-10-19 01:41:00 | ooh. What a pain. I can onl plug one monitor in my graphics card. I have 2 monitors though. | mejobloggs (264) | |
2003-10-19 02:30:00 | Just plonk in another graphics card (PCI) to plug your second monitor into. :-) | Susan B (19) | |
2003-10-19 03:07:00 | Not that easy. It costs money. Then I have a warranty, so I will have to take it to samcor, and pay extra so I don't void the warranty. | mejobloggs (264) | |
2003-10-19 10:16:00 | mejobloggs is right. Well I know that I can run multiple desktops on my ONE monitor using a Geforce4 MX440 and nVidia detonator drivers. Can't say that I'm a huge fan of them though, apparently they're really good when you're used to them. But the implementation is no where near as good as it is in Linux. | -=JM=- (16) | |

Its one of the power tools from microsoft, might be called desktop manager or something similiar. This means you can have 4 workspaces and gets rid of some of the clutter. Basically they just copied Linux though ;) |
