184344 2003-10-18 03:47:00 or you could do a search of Press F1 for pop up stoppers as well. stu140103 (137)
184345 2003-10-18 04:59:00 Thank you chaps, was wondering what your favourite was,if indeed you used one. Thomas (1820)
184346 2003-10-18 05:03:00 I prefer the proxomotron.

Not only kills pop-ups,but all ads if you want it to,even kills backgrounds and nearly everything else that makes up a page if you feel the need.

184347 2003-10-18 05:13:00 Yes, the Proxomitron is very good, but I don't use it because, seriously, it needs a major overhaul of the interface. agent (30)
184348 2003-10-18 06:41:00 Google Toolbar is a good free popup stopper but doesnt stop banners like admuncher.

Cheers Steve

184350 2003-10-18 08:27:00 The other way is to use a comprehensive Hosts file that blocks ad-servers.
The hosts files that were able to be downloaded from Steve Martins site are no longer, but he lists alternative sites where pre-compiled hosts files can be obtained.
