| 184974 | 2003-10-20 01:47:00 | I have a 700mhz Duron pc with 128 ram. Started my computer, pressed Delete to enter setup. Loaded defaults and saved. Now there is only a blank screen when I boot it up. Can someone recommend a possible fix? Thanks. | tawhiti (2503) | ||
| 184975 | 2003-10-20 02:04:00 | Does it make any beeps at all? Does the monitor turn on and go black, or does it stay fully off? Check that all the cards inside the PC are in securely :-) |

| 184977 | 2003-10-20 06:03:00 | Does the computer make any noise at all, fans starting up, HDD running ? Most monitors have a little light (LED) on the front, does yours and if it does, does it light up at all. Does your computer power supply have an on/off switch? If it does make sure you have not switched it off. :-) Why did you need to enter setup? |

I have come across pc's that power the monitor but not the pc itself (dual plugs in the power supply) if this is the case it maybe a faulty power supply. lastly you said you said you reset the BIOS to defaults then this problem occurred, did you record the BOIS settings before doing this if you did good, try reinstating those settings. good luck |

| 184979 | 2003-10-20 09:29:00 | Hi tawhiti It might help if you tell us why you wanted/needed to load the defaults in the first place. That could be a clue to your present problems. Otherwise I would consider clearing the bios by removing the battery or fitting a link, whatever your MB data requires and start again. Cheers Billy 8-{) |

| 184980 | 2003-10-20 19:44:00 | Computer power supply,fan, lights, screen all work. What I did not mention is that I had formatted the hard drive priviously. | tawhiti (2503) | ||
| 184981 | 2003-10-20 19:51:00 | I had used setup cd nt4 to delete partitions on the hard drive, 40gig, and wanted to load win98. Win98 cd asked for setup disk which i do not have. I got frustrated and went into setup and loaded defaults which lead to my problem. | tawhiti (2503) | ||

Run that by me again? You want to install Win 98 but you don't have a Win 98 setup/installation disc? How then were you planning on installing Win 98? |
